Artist's Comments

This is my depiction of Smaug, the great worm from The Hobbit. I refined his body form some sketches I had done, wow, dragons are hard as hell to come up[ with proportions for. I mixed in tons of different animal parts and put em together to create a dragon, a dogs hind legs, tyrannosaurus forearms, a bird beak, then I had to portray parts of him wlll described such as his jewel encrusted undersides. Overall, a fun exercise in creation. Theres a hobbit, man, and dwarf under his neck to give a sense of scale.

It's beautiful. Great job on the detail.

You must resign yourself to being extraordinary

Awesome picture indeed, the details are great (although hobbits don't wear boots).

uno questione! why are the wings see through? is that a fashion statement?
and i love how you set up proportion by drawing the people... good job. i think he's a skinny dragon.

ni siquiera lo pienses.

lolm thanks man, the wings are not truly, "see through", but simply transluscent it shows that they're a bit thin, and yes hes quite skinny, a bit emaciated even from sleeping all day and never really eating...
